Role: Book Reviewer (Canadian Fiction and Poetry)

While MoonLit Getaway publishes artwork, fiction, and poetry from around the world, we are especially committed to the Canadian literary scene. As such, we are seeking reviewers of new or forthcoming works by Canadian citizens and permanent residents, specifically novels, books of poetry, and short story collections.

Position Description: 

• evaluate traditionally published books, providing analysis and critiques, delving into content, style, and overall merit

• write a minimum of one review per month (500 to 1000 words each) for publication on our blog

• reviews must not be written by AI

​

Qualifications: A degree in a related field is required; however, relevant experience and traditionally published writing will be considered in place of formal education. 

​

The ideal candidate is a passionate reader with a strong understanding of literary craft, excellent written communication skills, and an awareness of literary trends.

​

Compensation: While the position is voluntary, the incumbent will have their own page on MoonLitGetaway.com, which they can use to promote their own projects, pending Executive Editor approval. They also receive one free copy of each volume of Harvest Moon (Print Edition) and a free Full Moon Membership, as long as they submit at least one well-written review per month.
