Arrowroot
LindaAnn LoSchiavo
My arrowroot forgives me easily
For lax unintentional dry spells when
Leaf blades fold in when parched, like palms upright,
Tight clasped in prayer, awaiting baptism
That unstitches greenness, relaxed at last,
Unfurling from its rigid pose, relieved
As a discarded lover welcomed back,
Preening and awaiting veneration.
