Water reflects trees kingfisher-green

Pulkita Anand

Wang An-shih

The water is threading its way through me in the river

And I wander through this transparent transition

I grow patience through watching drifting diving ducks

Forgot the flow of time, forgot the distant din

Its way spills and evokes grooves and mangroves

The wind whacking whirring water in waves

Crest and trough, rise and fall, high and low, ebb and flow,

Water flows

The raindrops pour and mingle, losing themselves

Fusing themselves into one

Water that’s whole and empty

Which droplet is which? Which is which?

To see a world in a drop of rain

And a heaven in a droplet on flower

Hold a drop in the palm of your hand

And eternity in a rainbow. Look!

A hummingbird drips a drop in the sip

the flight of fiery flamingos up

                                                                  &

                                                                             Down

In the drops

Above the grey skeins stretches

The dew-laden, misty morning swaddling the surface &

The waft of wind dropped, and the flowers flowed to the sea

While monarch, zebra, skipper, peacock pansy and painted lady

Flutter in flurry slid and slipped in the water,

Whose song is it singing serenely in the soft sun drops?

dancing and prancing, mosses, lichens, lettuces, lilies, pickerels, reeds, irises,

In placid pond water

By the moonlight, night’s shadow conspires with gnats, bats and crickets

Veiling the elixir, while the tiger drops its drinking shadow

Read between the drops to decipher the meaning of the network
