REEM THE VISUAL ARTIST

Reem is a visual artist based in Treaty 6 territory, Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton, Alberta). Her work focuses on portraiture, fine art, and community-based projects. She works solo under the name reemthevisualartist, and is also the co-founder of Martina & Reem, an award-winning fashion and portraiture photography duo.

 

Her passion for photography started at a young age, shooting and developing black and white film. That early love for image-making continues to shape her approach today. Through her art, she explores storytelling, identity, and connection.

 

In addition to her creative practice, Reem enjoys teaching photography workshops that encourage people to connect with their creativity. For her, art is a way to share perspective and build community through visual stories.​​
